Microwave Circuits, Inc. designs and manufactures a wide range of high performance RF/Microwave filters and diplexers from DC - 40 GHz. Located in the capital of the USA, we have over twenty network analyzer test stations and in-house vibration and environmental test capabilities. Our commitment is to provide the highest quality filters and diplexers at fair prices for commercial and defense markets. Types of high performance filters we design and manufacture are: cavity, combline, interdigital, suspended substrate, helical, ceramic, waveguide, lumped component, microstrip, surface mount, miniature, coaxial, high pass, band pass, low pass, band reject, diplexers, triplexers, and integrated combinations such as highpass/lowpass or bandpass/low pass.

We provide and maintain a quality assurance program to ensure that the design and production is according to specifications. The quality assurance policy and procedures used during design, production, test and delivery are in accordance with the requirements of ISO-9001 and developed in accordance with MIL-Q-9858, which consists of an inspection system per MIL-I-45208 and a calibration system per MIL-C-45662. These systems are used to monitor and control the final product and parts throughout the entire manufacturing process. Every Microwave Circuits, Inc.'s filter is considered by us to be a high-reliability component requiring stress application, failure mode analysis and commensurate control of manufacture under QA supervision. Our standard of workmanship is in accordance with MIL-STD 454K requirement 5 & 9 and IPC-A-610 Rev C.

Our standard process steps and routers are designed to inspect and process to these requirements. Accordingly, filters for commercial use are in the same package style, configuration and design as filters we make for military application requirements. Typical environmental conditions we design and build to meet and withstand are as follows, however you must delineate your necessary environmental requirements in the request for quotation:

High-power testing Environmental testing Inspection Quality Assurance
  • Continuous operation temperature: - 55°C to + 85°C.

  • Non-operating temperature: -60°C to +125°C.

  • 0 - 95% relative humidity.

  • Thermal shock: Withstands 10 cycles of - 54°C (1/2 Hr) to + 90°C (1/2 Hr).

  • Random Vibration: MIL-STD-202F Method 214A test condition letter D figure 214-1 for 3 hours in each axis while operating.

  • Mechanical Shock: 40 g sawtooth waveform, 11 msec duration, MIL-STD-810C method 516.4, procedure IV.

  • Altitude: Operate at any altitude from sea level to 50,000 ft.

  • Acceleration: Non-operating acceleration stress level of 28g in each of the 3 mutually perpendicular axes, and operating acceleration stress level of 13g in each of the 3 mutually perpendicular axes,  MIL-STD-202F method 212A, test condition C.

  • Gross Leak Seal.

The standard Environmental Stress Screening consists of a minimum of a  bake at 125°C for 1/2 hour. Tests are performed at 25°C on 100% of the units shipped. Swept Rejection, Insertion Loss, Return Loss (VSWR), and Group Delay test data is typical  of the tests recorded at room temperature with a sample of each shipment having test data recorded at temperature extremes. In-house screening may also consist of vibration, temp-cycling, humidity, shock, high power or as required by specifications. Microwave Circuits, Inc. electrical test equipment is calibrated by Agilent Technologies. All shipments include test data at no additional charge.
